On the occassion of Varalakshmi Vratham, we also performed the Kaappu function for Sahasra.She was netaly dressed in Pattu Pavadai for the occassion which was stitched from her patti's blouse piece.
All the jewels were from Delhi. Her Athay presented her with Bangles and Kaappu, Grand parents gave her a chain while her Kollu patti presented her with ear rings.

As for the Puja, that was performed later ......
while Sahasra slept.
The neivadyam offerred to the goddess was a combination of both traditional as well as western bhakshanams. So on one hand we got to eat Appams and Vadaiys along with Apple Muffins which was specially prepared from the apples of our garden.

Mami says she is impressed by the work done on the puja idol. articularly the saree on it. And also Sahasra's outfit. She is however not able to decide as who the child resembles.
