Chamundi children
We had them over for cake and samosa on Sunday at our house - 20 boys and girls from Chamundi Children Home. Occasion was birthday celebration,in Mysore,of our grandsons in San Ramon CA.
Raghu, who is on the management committee of Chamundi Children home, took care of the arrangement to bring the children to our house and taking them back later in the evening.
We invited Dr Javeed Nayeem and family, Ashwin, our young friend and his sister. Raghu, Baby, Savitha with kids and Vinay were there.
Children had cakes from Ragevendra bakery and samosa from Mahalakshmi.
Sarah,Javeed's daughter sang some songs, which opened up the children.
Chamundi children sang Kannada numbers, and also recounted some jokes.
In appreciation of their performance Sarah and her brother Adnan distributed gifts to the Chamundi children.
Savitha's son Samarth, who looks a bit like Nikhil moved among the children, one of whom is seen here showing Samarth his gift.
As a finale the children formed themselves into a circle and sang happy birthday to Nikhil/Sidharth.
Nikhil is 2, and Sidharth, 4.

At Global Village, Dubai
Of the lastest set of photos we received from Dubai my favourite is this one.
Pdmanabha chittappa retains, even at this age, a schoolboy enthusiasm for visiting new places, knowing about new things, as he is seen doing here at India stall of the Global Village.
This is incredible India, as seen from Dubai.
Entrance to the Global Village, of which India is a part.

Chittappa's fun time in Dubai
Those of us who haven't been there do not associate Dubai with monsoon. A video clip from Karthick shows what seems a downpour. It is the kind of weather in which you feel like a snooze on your living room sofa. Which is what Kannan is seen doing in this minute-long video. I wish I knew how to download the video-clip in this blog.
Anyway we have received scores of photographs showing Padmanabha chittapps having fun with daughter Vasanthi, son-in-law, and grandson Karthick and his wife Madumitha. They seem enthusiastic about showing chittapa Padmanabhan their town, its mall, and the metro rail.
Mr Padmanabhan appears to be having whale of a time in Dubai. When I phoned her the other day I asked Sambu chitti if she had ever fed her husband with cake on his birthday. Chitti quipped, they didn't buy those things in her household, so no question of celebrating anything with cakes - Ethu ellaam yaaru kanda daa.

Sharjah birthday party
Padhmanabha chittappa, who is on a month long visit to Dubai, sent us a the first set of photos taken at his grandson Karthick's residence in Sharjah. The occasion was his birthday,I don't know which year. He is 75 plus. Anyway, after a certain age you don't keep count of years.
I don't know if Mr Padmanabhan had his birthday celebrated this way before - with cake and partying .
But then the initiative came from his grandson Karthick and his wife Madumitha. After all, this was the first time their grandfather is visiting them in Dubai.
Mr Padmanabhan was equally pleased with the proceedings. He reciprocated their gesture by feeding cake to karthick.
Vasanthi, his daughter, and son-in-law Kannan are also in Dubai, visiting their only son and daughter-in-law.
Chittappa has a friendly nature and moves with his son-in-law like friends.
Madumitha and Karthick had invited a few friends to join the birthday party.
